ICHEP 2024: A Celebration of Science and Creativity in Prague

ICHEP 2024 in Prague was a resounding success! From July 18-24, over 1,400 delegates from around the world gathered for the 42nd International Conference on High Energy Physics, making it one of the largest and most exciting events in the field.

The conference kicked off with a warm welcome from the ICHEP Chair, celebrating the return to in-person gatherings after the challenges of 2020. The week was filled with engaging plenary sessions, thought-provoking panels, and around 300 poster presentations, all highlighting the latest advancements in particle physics.

A standout feature of ICHEP 2024 was the “BeInspired@ICHEP2024” art exhibition. Installed in the Winter Garden, this unique display featured art created by students, inspired by the wonders of particle physics and the legacy of Arnošt Lustig. It served as a beautiful intersection of science and creativity, drawing many attendees for guided tours and discussions.

Of course, the conference wasn’t just about science. Attendees also enjoyed the flavors of Prague, with over 10,000 pastries and 2,000 ice cream scoops served during breaks, adding a sweet touch to the event. Among other things, the days were accompanied by a rich programme full of Czech culture, movement, dance and music.
